Jennifer Tilly was conceived in Los Angeles on 16 September 1958, in extremely poor conditions. Her father worked as a salesman, while her mother was a teacher. Jennifer was the youngest child from her extended family. She frequently accompanied her mother, who was employed as a school teacher and a theater teacher, to performances. Jennifer found her performance remarkable. Jennifer's parents separated after she turned five. Jennifer was brought up to British Columbia by her mother, who moved with her siblings. Jennifer did not attend school, though as a youngster she was extremely artistic. Her time at Canadian schools resulted in her becoming the frequent target of bullies. As she entered high school, her enthusiasm for theatre began to fade. In order to combat her loss of interest, her mother encouraged her participate as an extra in various productions. All of her children were motivated by their mothers to explore a passion of art. She immediately took actions.
